An Advanced System for Delivering Estradiol

Vivelle-Dot® was developed using the 3-layered, patented Delivery Optimized Thermodynamics (DOT) Matrix® technology. This advanced design uses a drug/acrylic blend mixed with silicone adhesive to form evenly dispersed, concentrated drug pockets. The concentration gradient between the adhesive system and the skin allows for highly efficient diffusion. The delivery of estradiol is heat activated when the patch is applied and then pressed to the skin for 10 seconds. Therapeutic estradiol levels may be achieved within 4 hours of first application.
