Talking to Your Patients About Menopause |
|
Your patients will have many questions about menopause and decisions to make
about treatments. And they will look to their healthcare professional for
guidance.
As you know, estrogen therapy (ET) can be an effective treatment for moderate
to severe menopause symptoms and the
prevention of postmenopausal osteoporosis.1 There are various estrogen therapy options
available, but patients often prefer a patch. Some of the patches are very small, convenient and
effective. But women may be concerned about the negative findings related to
estrogen therapy from the Women’s Health Initiative (WHI) study. You can discuss
with your patients that, while there are
risks associated with Vivelle-Dot®, you will review the
symptoms and risk/benefit profile with them before making any therapy
decisions.
